Cassiano Group, as the officially authorized Stat-X® distributor for Italy, is able to design, install, and commission aerosol fire suppression systems, providing full certification of correct installation and commissioning for the Italian terrestrial market.

With the increasing use of lithium-ion batteries and the lack of truly effective fire protection solutions for BESS and energy storage systems, Cassiano Group has developed highly specialized expertise, becoming a key reference point for delivering precise and professional answers to this growing market need.

Two core elements form the heart of the protection system:
K-Detect-iON – a high-sensitivity gas sensor that monitors the presence of hydrogen and other flammable gases released during battery degradation or failure. It provides early warning before heat, smoke, or flame appear, enabling proactive intervention to reduce risks and prevent fire escalation.

Stat-X Aerosol – condensed aerosol fire suppression technology representing the ideal solution for Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). It ensures continuous protection even in enclosures that cannot be fully sealed.
Tests confirm that Stat-X extinguishes fires in single and double battery cells, while residual aerosol particles provide ongoing protection against potential re-ignition.

What is a lithium battery?
A lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery is a rechargeable battery in which lithium ions move from the negative electrode to the positive electrode during discharge and return during recharging.

The Risk
Battery fires are deeply rooted and extremely difficult to extinguish with traditional suppression systems.
Gases released before and during ignition increase the risk of re-ignition, making continuous and reliable protection essential.
Unlike high-pressure gas systems that escape rapidly from non-sealed areas, Stat-X aerosol operates at low pressure and remains suspended in the environment, ensuring protection even where openings cannot be closed.

Advanced Technology
Stat-X technology offers the lightest, most compact, and cost-effective fire extinguishing solution available. Each generator is a robust, hermetically sealed stainless-steel unit containing a stable solid compound.
In the event of a fire, the units release ultra-fine particles and inert propellant gases that extinguish flames effectively with significantly less agent compared to conventional systems.

Integration with Kentec Sigma XT Control Panel and Vizulinx
 
For BESS applications, Cassiano Group uses the Kentec Sigma XT as the main control panel, one of the most reliable and widely adopted solutions in the fire-suppression sector.
 
The Sigma XT enables multi-zone management, configurable activation logic, sensor integration, and full control of Stat-X generators.
 
The panel can also be equipped with Kentec Vizulinx, an advanced gateway that provides:
• remote system monitoring
• email/SMS notifications
• integration with BMS via Modbus and BACnet
• centralized management through supervision platforms
 
Thanks to this architecture, Stat-X becomes a complete, fully monitored, intelligent system that is ideally suited even for the most complex BESS installations.
